We only have one Mother Earth!

Recognize this scenario?

"Daaaaaaaaaad, Mooooooooooom, I have a project due tomorrow and the printer is acting funnyyyyyyyy!"

And so down the hall we trudge with our head held down, knowing ahead of time what the problem is. As suspected, it's the cursed MAGENTA cartridge that is dry once again, necessitating an unplanned trip to Staples for a new one. You get home, pull out the old one to replace it, and then,  if we're truly environmental thugs, the old empty one most probably gets tossed in the garbage. But the more likely scenario is that we drop it into the blue box for recycling and go about feeling good about our environmental stewardship.

Right? Wrong again!

That cartridge is full of plastics and electronics, copper and gold which the recycling depot at your local municipality will likely not be able to separate, so they're disposed of in a landfill unless there is an alternate program in place. Well now, we've unwittingly become that which we were trying to avoid; an environmental thug. Those plastics and "forever chemicals" will sit in the ground and be undigestible by Mother Earth for an eternity.

There ARE other ways to be "environmentally awesome" with these ubiquitous ink and toner cartridges, both in your own home AND at our places of business.

The first step is to choose print devices from manufacturers that HAVE a program in place for recycling that is simple and easy to use. Surprisingly, there are very few, but Hewlett-Packard has one of the most comprehensive programs in the industry.

Check out their website on the subject here: https://www.hp.com/ca-en/hp-information/recycling/ink-toner.html. If you are ALREADY an HP printer user, whether at home in small format or at work with large format print devices, you owe it to Mother Earth to visit this website.

On it, you can learn all about how HP leads the industry in recycling inkjet cartridges and toners, AND you can order FREE return envelopes and boxes to safely protect Mother Earth through recycling.

Get the envelope.
Put your cartridge(s) inside and seal.
Call the courier for a free pickup and you've done YOUR part.
