The next versions of TerraFlow Geomatics' Utility Mapper (version 1.0.0.45), Pole Mapper (version 1.0.0.35), Sensor Mapper (version 2.0.0.45), and Surface Mapper (version 1.0.0.16) are now available on the Google Play Store.
There is a variety of updates to the systems which will be detailed in the following sections. Also included below is an update on the continued development of the sketch tools inside of DataEngine.
Jobs
All mobile clients now have the ability to specify "jobs." When you open a project, you can now create a new data collection job or use an existing job. Jobs classify data automatically for sketching/exporting and other workflows. It can replace the requirement to create separate projects for each job you may have.
For example, a job can be used to collect data for a locate ticket. A job could be an environmental scan for a particular well site or for a specific subsurface utility engineering project amongst many other activities.
Onboard NAD83 CSRS Support
All mapper products now directly support the NAD83(CSRS)v7 output reference frame from Trimble Mobile Manager with conversion to Web Mercator. Trimble Mobile Manager supports a variety of output reference frames, and when using NAD83(CSRS)v7 you may want to have the mapper products translate the output to Web Mercator which is the definition for the basemaps. If so, select NAD83(CSRS)v7, and in the Mapper settings, select NAD83 CSRS --> WebMercator as the translation option.
Enhanced Sketching
Sketching in DataEngine has been significantly improved with a better user experience.
Sketch improves the utility locate professionals' ability to quickly and easily generate offsets/dimensions between landbase or reference objects. You can add notes, both pre-set and free-form, as well as other contextual features such as north arrows, building corners, and other features to the map.
Sketch also allows you to set your Limit of Locate and automatically clips all of your data to the limits that you have set.
Notes, line work, circles, polygons, and the like can be added, rotated, colours changed, thicknesses set, and more. We invite you to check out Sketch's new abilities and there are some more exciting additions coming in the next few weeks.
