Dimensions+ 2022 Keynotes Focus on Refining Workflows

Trimble president and CEO Rob Painter kicked off the successful Dimensions+ conference with a keynote speech that highlighted the company’s progress in creating “the best industry cloud on the planet.”

The rolling out of Trimble Construction Cloud’s pairing with Microsoft was part of the thrust to usher in a new era of continuous and connected experience. Painter and Trimble officials also revealed that the company collaborated with tech partners to create an integrated physical and digital environment called the “construction metaverse,” a concept that combines automation, sensors, robots, and humans to help workflows become efficient and earth-friendly.

Painter presented some of Trimble’s latest innovations, which will not only help the construction industry work smarter, but will also aim to reduce CO2 emissions and meet global sustainability targets.  Announcements included the integration of Trimble’s latest robotic total station with HP’s new SitePrint layout solution for increased productivity and faster layout delivery.  Trimble’s other breakthrough in construction surveying technology is a joint effort with Exyn Technologies to enable Boston Dynamics’ Spot robot to take fully autonomous missions and deliver precise reality capture within complex construction environments.

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak also shared the stage with the Trimble leader to address a record number of some 5,000 conference attendees and impart insights on advancements in technology that are changing the world.

Here's Trimble's own recap video.

As always, the conference represented an opportunity for the industry – and the Cansel team – to get together. After several years of restrictions, it was great to see our colleagues in person again! The event culminated in a special evening where all attendees were bused from the conference centre at the Venetian Hotel to the new Allegiant Stadium, home of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders. The stadium was built using Trimble's Tekla software, which made the night extra special.
